Get familiar with movement, your pack and the things your hands can do. Practise with tools and trainers, try gathering and craft, and get to know the shops and bank. The island is designed to introduce everyday activities before you face the wilderness.
A sheltered beginning
Brackenholm gives you a peaceful surface and room to train. It is not a promise that nothing can hurt you. Water, work and unfamiliar ground still call for attention. Take time to understand your own condition and equipment.
Prepare to leave
Claiming land and building your own home belong beyond Brackenholm. Pack for a journey, learn how your tools work and find company if you want it. Leaving the island is a decision to prepare for, rather than a step to rush through.
